Deena Dodd
VP of Business Development & Governmental Affairs
Deena Dodd is the Vice President of Business Development and Governmental Affairs. She oversees the engagement and networking opportunities across the Nation for OPYS, and is actively engaged in state and federal legislative activities. She has been working in the legislative space for 6 years and has phenomenal relationships to help keep rural healthcare front and center.
Deena came to OPYS with almost 10+ years of rural healthcare experience at a state and national level. She has built and maintains relationships with hospital administrators from across the country. She has worked with critical access and rural PPS hospitals, FQHCs, as well as rural health clinics, schools, and community development organizations. Deena is a strong advocate for rural communities, the constituents within them and the healthcare facilities that serve them.
Deena recognizes the immense challenges and opportunities that face rural healthcare and she's passionate about being proactive in addressing them. She has worked alongside many organizations to enhance education, leadership skills, and she has also supported hospitals engaged in Accountable Care Organizations. Since the inception of the IRS's Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA) Deena has supported many hospitals in completing theirs.
Deena sits on the board of the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute Community Health Partnerships (CTSI-CHP). She is also involved in the IN Dept of Mental Health Community Cares Program for Region 5. She is a lifelong learner with degrees in Surgical Technology and Business Management and is working on her Masters in Management and Leadership.
During Deena's down time you can find her unwinding in a kayak, relaxing with her 3 English Mastiffs on the deck of her home, or spending time with family. She is an avid Harley Davidson rider and loves a good glass of wine!
